Now K-Bug is in the ER.....(an update)

Ugh. She and her friends were running around at mutual tonight and she got her hand slammed in one of the self-closing doors going outside. Our pediatrician was in the bldg. so Mermaid ran to get him(her future fil it sounds like). He looked at it and sent us up to the ER. The nail of the bed by the cuticle was poking up, there was a gash down her finger(she's going to lose that nail for sure too) so she'll need stitches and he thought she broke the bones. It's her right ring finger and she caught her middle finger a little too. She has an amazing pain tolerance. She came screaming, bleeding from the other side of the church into the kitchen though and ran straight over the kitchen sink. The bishops dd was right behind her and freaking out. She grabbed a chair for K-Bug to sit in, and we held her hand over her head until Dr. S could get in there. Then I took another peek and started to lose it. Okay, I smell puke, and I vomit. My kids bleed, and I pass out. The bishop ran over to me and saw me turn pale. All of a sudden I was getting crowded and K-Bug was sitting there just fine as could be. She was more worried about the little boy she was playing with and didn't want him to feel bad. I had to leave and get fresh air, the more pale I got, the more people kept coming up to me, lol. The LAST thing I needed. So, I called Mr. D on the cell, he thought I was joking. Nope, meet me at the ER. So we finally get in the car to leave and I'm feeling better. We have some WILD children and it was especially bad tonight, I was so sure I was going to hit one leaving. The whole way there K-Bug is begging me to let her call her friend so she can tell him herself that it's not his fault and he shouldn't feel bad. She's joking too about how she had to be like her twin and break something too. Ugh. Mr. D was at the ER when I got there so he got her registered already but she had to get her i.d. band and the receptionist asked her what happened, she said, "It aint pretty." LOL The receptionist was giggling and told her that was a first. Remember, when she was 3, she fell off her bed and snapped her collar bone and she was nearly fine a few hours later. Momma's instinct told me something wasn't right so when I took her to the ER that time they almost didn't take an x-ray either. She had to wear a sling for a few weeks. So, Mr. D calls from the room and tells me they're just waiting for the doc. He said he complained that his back hurt from playing soccer tonight and she said, "Uh-hem, I win." LOL She's a riot. So, now I'm just waiting for them to get an x-ray and get home. Okay, he just called, she's been stitched up and one right through the nail, bleck, because he said it would help keep the flesh together but she's gonna lose it. If it's broken, which he is sure it is, it'll just be splinted. She told Mr. D looking at him while she was getting the shot was worse than getting the shot. She watched him do it and told him her mom would not do well. I think it's safe to say she does very well under pressure.

UPDATE: Broke the tip of her finger, 3 stitches, she'll lose her nail, and I'm going to have to buy stock in Ben & Jerry's. She's pretty comfie now and they gave her several gloves so she can keep her hand dry when she showers. We'll fill the Rx for antibiotics tomorrow. She was definately "on" with her humorous lines and kept the staff rolling. Pass the bubble wrap!

Oh my goodness! *shudder* Once you've got a pair of injuries it's too late to escape the rule of 3. Bring out the bubble wrap, indeed!

Vivianne's finger looked like that when she was 10 months old... no joke! Nowadays, you can't even tell..... unless you look REALLY close, then you can see the tiny tiny line...

Hope Kenzie's finger heals fast, and that her nail sticks around... (((Hugs))) and DEFINITELY wrap your kids in BUBBLE WRAP! LOL
