Sunset in the Sierras....

This just never gets old.....

This morning I woke up to "Gilbert". Gilbert is a goose that lives at the pond about a 1/8 mile away. He's a friendly little guy that guards two ponds. One is private the other is also private but the owner welcomes visitors as long as they pick up their own trash and any others have left behind. If you catch a fish, you must release it right away. Sweet man, building his own house that is retiring to the area. Great place to retire to! Gilbert somehow got all the way over to our street, I'm wondering if he got spooked by a mountain lion that has been gossiped to have been in the area. A few days ago our neighbor had a family of 3-4 deer in their front yard, major salad bar nibbling going on there. Hope she didn't plant anything expensive, lol. And also this morning we had wild turkeys in the back. But my "meat lady" friend taught us at Enrichment that free range "meat" is tough because it's leaner from all the exercise they get. We'll stick to the store bought chubby ones that with a thermometer.

Momma Quail and her "quailets" were running up my driveway, and the squirrels are building a nest in my neighbors awning.

I should have pictures of the "wildlife" that actually live inside the home soon. School started last week, and they are getting settled in with their new friends, missing their old friends, and keeping busy. Mermaid has taken up guitar, and has chosen a pretty unique one. And if she decides it's just not for her, it sure will be pretty displayed in her room. ;)

Wow..maybe you could sell tickets and open your own little "wildlife zoo". You could groups of kindergarden classes come and you could wear a safari hat and give tours. Oh, don't forget to get some kahki shorts and top--think Crocodile Hunter.

The sounds like such a wonderful place to live Jenne. Can I come live with you?
