Our Song...

January 1991, this is OUR song. Our friends sang it as a duet at our wedding and it was our first dance as husband and wife. It's pretty retro and 80's, just like our wedding colors, teal and mauve. Just like our first apartment together though, it was OURS. It was clean and all, but very very small, the bathroom was bigger than the kitchen. We were grateful for all the hand-me-down furniture we got, including the gold patchwork love seat we got with oranges and browns. We hoped the giant teal fan on the wall would divert your eyes from the gaudiness of the love seat. No such luck. The pre-remote control era t.v. was also ours. And with the bunny ears touching the metal window frame we could get our local channel. I can't believe we ever shared a full size bed, I much prefer our Cal-King, thank you very much. Let's not forget our dishes, black with teal and mauve too. These must be worth something on Ebay these days.

And then we had kids. And our "song", well, once again, I just NEVER THOUGHT.

Never Thought by Dan Hill

Can I touch you?
I can't believe that you are real
How did I ever find you?
You are the dream that saved my life
You are the reason I survived
Baby

I never thought that I could love
Someone as much as I love you
I know it's crazy but it's true
I never thought that I could need
Someone as much as I need you
I love you

Can I hold you?
Girl your smile lights up the sky
You are too beautiful for the human eye
You are the dream that never dies
You are the fire that burns inside
Baby

I never thought that I could love
Someone as much as I love you
I know it's crazy but it's true
I never thought that I could need
Someone as much as I need you
I love you

You are the sunshine in the sky
You are the sparkle in my eyes

I never thought that I could love
Someone as much as I love you
I know it's crazy but it's true
I never thought that I could need
Someone as much as I need you
I love you
