On our recent trip, bug propellant was highly recommended, and not giving blood for a year after you visit Belize or Guatemala. I brought a container of bug wipes, but it ATE MY NAIL POLISH! So, I refuse to put that stuff ever again on my skin, that can't be good. I just bought an Off! fan you wear outside, but it does nothing to repel these little buggars. I've never been a meal for bugs, but something different this year has made me a feast for these guys. They sting, they hurt, but they don't leave any kind of mark(at least on me). Bones, K-Bug, and Ick, all look like they've walked through a swarm of mosquitoes when they come in from outside. These guys are not isolated to our property either. I picked up A at the high school yesterday and rolled down my windows to let some fresh air in, I was wearing white so it was pretty obvious how fast they found me. Everything is in bloom, and they must be some sort of gnat, I'm assuming. But, how do I keep them from biting me?! Argh. I tried to lay out for a few minutes today, keep my souvenir tan from the Caribbean from fading, and that fan did nothing. Do I really want to lay out in the sun with bug spray on? I'm thinking that can't be good either.
